Grape is good too!
We’ve had our Texas Style for four years. My wife and I both agree that there is nothing better than our Traeger. More and more of our family and friends are buying them…once they eat from our Traeger grill they understand what it is all about.
i was housesitting for my sister recently and used their traeger texas two times. i smoked baby backs both times and set it on smoke the whole time for 8 hours using apple. i now am looking to buy one. i want the junior. the ribs were awesome and i didn’t have to mess around with anything. in fact, i left the house for 4 hours even. not recommended, i know.
Matthew,
Thanks, I will check out Paul Kirks book.
I have used alot, but have settled with hickory, I love the smell. my second favorite is pecan.
you can never mess up pork on a taeger!
check out Paul Kirks’s Championship Barbecue cookbook! it will open many new doors and it is by far the best bbq cookbook I have found.
Matthew
I have used Mesquite, Hickory, Garlic, Onion, Maple. Mesquite and Hickory are my staples.
This weekend my pork tenderloin will have Apple & Pecan mix used on it.
Oak is my next wood. This is supposed to be good with Beef. There are no immediate plans to use Cherry or Alder.
Don’t waste your money on Garlic or Onion. These pellets had potential but really didn’t deliver like the other pellets. These two in my opinion are not worth the money.
Mike
which pellets do you use?
I have owned my Traeger for 7 months. I will never go back to charcoal or propane again. Once you have cooked on a Traeger everything else just doesn’t stack up.
i have had my little tex for 3 yrs it is the best
Traeger ftw
If you want no hassel, get a traeger!!! you just plug it in and cook.
Nice!!
you happy with your Traeger ?
thinking of getting one or a Big Green egg
Pork, it’s what’s for dinner!
