    Question :

when smoking a whole chicken, cooking time indirect is multipul hours (chicken falls apart)

However in the Video The indirect time is just under an hour for the thighs…
    (after searing)

does the meat still fall off the bone in the same way as a skoker or other slow roating,? and if not….

If grill Just thighs for the same time as a whole chicken will I be over cooking?

Decisions decisions for BBQ this week end!

    Good tip! Thanks!

Gas seems to take the fun out of grilling though. I finally gave in about 6 years ago and went gas, but really like the challenge of coals and wood. Coals also allowed more ‘downtime’ for beer during cooking.

  14. krs4811 says:

Turn off half your gas grill and put a pan under the chicken on the cold side, same technique as what this video is showing except for the use of a gas grill. You can put wood pellets or chips in some tinfoil over or close to one of your gas burners to generate some smoke. Regulate your temperature with your burner control. Number of burners on varies by size of grill but you need at least 2 burners.

yes but not for too long or you wont taste the meat. ive over done this and it was like eating liquid smoke lol. the second time i only smoked for around an hour and it was awesome

  18. bbqlover1017 says:

can you smoke thighs in off set smoker and get a good taste?please tell me how!

  19. tonybonydk says:

please notice… – wood chuncks make the skin on poultry a bit like rubber… and a tip is to make the smoke sometime before… because when the outside is fried, it doesnt take much smoke taste..

@Kingjeekong shut the fuck up before I smash your fucking skull in and BBQ YOU on the grill!

  21. Kingjeekong says:

    BBQ is gay.

  22. cksilverado1 says:

They can also be done on a gas grill.

Put them on and watch them closely,! After 3-5 minutes the fat will start burning and the grill must be shut off for 5-10 minutes until the fire goes out. Start up grill again and you should be able to cook through without causing another fat fire.
