    Try these goody bars:

mix 1 box yellow cake mix with one egg and one stick melted butter. Press into greased and floured 9×13 in. pan.

sprinkle 1 bag semi-sweet chocolate chips over cake mix.

mix 1 8oz package cream cheese (softened) with two eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 1 1lb box powdered sugar. Pour over chocolate chip layer.

Bake 350 for 40 min. Let cool completely before cutting. these are to die for. i make them all the time and my in-laws are crazy for them.

I’d skip the creamy pasta salad and go for pasta in a vinaigrette. I make a mean orzo spinach lemon salad. (Don’t have to worry about mayo in the sun too.) Black bean and rice salad is a nice cool salad too. Shake it up a bit, don’t do the usual baked beans and coleslaw. Another good salad is a German potato salad instead of creamy. Do a meat and cheese and veggie platter but not with ranch dip. Maybe hummus in a bread bowl. Something different.

I know when I hear “BBQ” I know I won’t like most of the food because it’s so traditional.

I make the best potatoe salad ever!

Slice and cube 5-6 baking potatoes
boil until tender- (try not to overcook)

    In a mixing bowl

    Add potatoes
chopped tomatoes (actually cherry tomatoes work best)
    chopped celery
    sliced green olives
add celery seed ( I use alot)
    paprika
mix with a cup and ahalf of real mayonnaise and 1 tablespoon of musard.

    Mix all together.

Slice and add hardboiled eggs on top as garnish, sprinkle paprika and celery seed on top. Refrigerate for 2 hours, serve. It’s delicious.

A grilled pork tenderloin is awesome. Just marinade it for a little while in some olive oil, salt, pepper and garlic (or garlic powder is you’re lazy). Grill on low for about 1/2 hour turning it occasionally. It is awesome!!!! Serve with a nice green salad and you’re set!!!

http://www2.kelloggs.com/Recipe/KelloggKitchens.aspx might have some good desert recipes and you could always have a kabob bar so all you have to do is cut of the meat and veggies for the guests to construct their own bob so you wont have too much to do……..of course burgers and dogs. strawberry shortcare is soooo easy at our house we just slice the berries(you can add different berries to have a berry shortcake) and we mix it in a bowl wiht sugar so it makes a syrup(more syrup the more it sits) then when it’s time for desert we scoop soem out on biscuts (or shortcake rounds ot angel food cake piece) and put soem whipped topping on it

    Kabobs!
steak or chicken or both..cut into cubes and marinate in italian dressing..
Zuchini, onions, mushrooms, peppers (red, yellow, orange, green), white or striped eggplant, yellow squash, etc..—
Just cube and also marinate then soak wooden skewers in water for at least a couple of hours and skewer veggies and meat alternating. grill approx. 5-10 min. depending how you like your steak cooked. For chicken till it turns a white opaque color and is firm and juices run clear!
A simple but elegant BBQ experience! For dessert…Strawberry shortcake!
Cut angel food cake into bite size peices,
mash berries and add a touch of sugar to sweeten if want
    whip cream
Layer cake bites, strawberries in glass dessert cups and top w/ cool whip!

Or make homemade strawberry cool whip!
Heavy whipping cream, sugar, strawberry juice
Chill a glass or metal bowl in freezer first! Using a hand mixer whip the cream till stiff peaks form, add a touch of juice and sugar! Keep whipping till peaks again and serve right away!
